In the 21st century, women are trying to be everything to everyone (with no small degree of success), but while we’re climbing career ladders, raising families, and being the ultimate socialites as well, it is often our own wellbeing that gets neglected.
So, on 16th September 2013, the UK’s largest spa travel company, Spabreaks.com, will be launching the first Women’s Wellness Week with the message #bekindtoyou, to raise awareness and discussion about women’s health and wellbeing; encouraging us all to be a little kinder to ourselves!
Four members of the Spabreaks.com team walked 100 miles from Bath to London over four days, to raise money for our charity beneficiary, Look Good … Feel Better! Not only that but they did the walk in their dressing gowns and handed out golden tickets containing anything from a £10 spa voucher to an overnight spa break for two, to people they met along the way!
To start Women’s Wellness Week in style, we hosted afternoon tea at Grace Belgravia for more than 80 women including performances from body confidence gurus Body Gossip, a feel-good fashion show from lingerie brand Curvy Kate, music from Lydia Baylis, a speech from Women’s Health editor Farrah Storr, and of course cake from the incredible people at East Dulwich Deli (if you haven’t tried the brownies then you’re missing out). All of which was kept in check by compere, Gaby Roslin.
The main purpose of Women’s Wellness Week is to get us all talking about the things that bother us, and most importantly to do something to #bekindtoyou in that week (and ideally, every week). So we invited YOU to tell us what you were doing to #bekindtoyou, and welcomed some amazing guest writers to the Spabreaks.com blog, The Hot Tub, including Martel Maxwell, Sally Gunnell, Rosi Prescott, Claire Lomas, Vicky Gomersall, and Farrah Storr!
We invited everyone to be a part of our #bekindtoyou afternoon tea by entering our #bekindtoyou raffle. Winners were selected at the event by Gaby Roslin and announced live on Twitter! Prizes came from Chavin Jewellery, Curvy Kate, my-wardrobe.com, Never Mind The Botox, Premae Skincare, Congham Hall, The Carlton Hotel and Spa, Bootcamp Pilates, Your Golf Travel, Glossybox, and the Bannatyne group!

This is all about girl power on a whole new, grown-up, cake-eating, wristband-wearing, 100-mile-walking, let’s-get-talking level, which can only mean one thing … the sky’s the limit, and we’re doing it all again next year from 15th-20th September 2014! So make sure you join us!
Men and women are different, so when it comes to our wellbeing, we think that we each deserve a week entirely to ourselves … next up, it’s the boys’ turn! Boys, we’re going to be telling you to #checkyouout during Men’s MOT Week in April 2014!
Spabreaks.com is the UK’s largest spa travel company, specialising in finding a spa break for every body. We live by the idea that a fluffy white dressing gown is more than just an accessory; it’s a symbol for feeling, safe, cared for, and comfortable in your own skin, no matter what’s happening in your world outside.
So because we believe it’s important to do the things that make you feel valued every once in a while, Women’s Wellness Week is the labour of love that we hope will inspire women to talk about the things that are bothering them, share information to help one another, provide support, and above all, encourage us all to do something every now and again to be a little kinder to ourselves.visit Spabreaks.com
